Let’s face it, times are tough: high gas prices, bad economy, foreclosures. And it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better anytime soon. So, what’s a fashionista to do? Head to Dillards at University Square Mall for an extra 40 percent off clearance. My friend, Vickie, went this week and said it was so worth it. She picked up a jacket originally $139 for $34.75 and a skirt priced at $79 for $19.75; not to mention three skirts and two tops all for under $200. Everything was 75 percent off, so it was about $800 worth of clothes. OMG!!!!

She didn’t even get over to the home department, which had tables for appliances for priced at 75 percent off.

Now, I got to give you the good with the bad. Her biggest qualm with the store: it’s filthy. Wear some some flats or flip flops in the dressing room because the carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since it was laid down. You’re not going to want to try stuff on with your shoes off (or you could pick up something you can’t return).
