Lets see if I can remember how to do this. Hello to all and may you be richly blessed. It’s been a while since I’ve blogged since life has been very busy of late. Our every day rat race can become very mundane if theres never any change of scenery or any new stimuli. I have found that a diet works in very much the same manner. We diet for a few weeks or months and our bodies say “ ok thats enough, I’m stopping now”. Hence we reach the point where 90% of diets fail. The metabolism slows down because it gets used to a certain routine, so our weight loss slows, we get discouraged and simply give up. We revert to our old eating patterns and all the work that we put forth to this point is pretty much moot. Right?..... WRONG!
It’s very simple. To fire up the furnace that is our metabolism, we have to introduce change every so often. I do what I like to call my “happy meal”. I diet all week with extra protiens, minimal carbs and portion control then on Sunday after church I have the one meal during the week that is full of reckless abandon! Sounds crazy but I have 30 less reasons to tell you that it works! An extra helping of this or that or a dessert not only cranks up the metabolisim but also does away with those extreme cravings that can break even the strongest of willpowers. Try it...It works! but make sure to be good the rest of the week though as too much of a good thing is never good in the long run.
On a positive note, my ankle is much better and starting tomorrow, Ill start walking and biking again. Thank God for His healing power! I’m aiming high with this extra month of challenge. My goal is 20 yes 20 pounds for the month of May. I close my eyes and can see myself riding Sheikra with Debbie and the boys. It sure looks like fun and I can’t wait to get there. Stay positive and prayerful, surely grace and mercy will follow. Peace be with you all, Until the next blog....In Christ..... Marty G.
P.S Sister Coco, You were bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, Which are His. Love Ya...M

Marty
To my lightweight friend way to go. Finding that thing that works is so great. It is probably the key to many of our projects in life.
I would be able to get off the plateau easier if everytime I jump off the 800 bungee cords attached to my mouth and to a tree on top of the plateau did not pull me back.
Peace

My handsome hubby,
I’m glad to read your words on this blog again. Sometimes that mundane routine can get the best of us and that’s the time to up our game. So keep writing, go to the gym and enjoy your “happy meal” but stay on the straight and narrow and He won’t let you down. The boys and I can’t wait to take you on Sheikra! As always, I am so proud of you!
XOXO
Deb

Marty!
I’m glad to hear that you understand plateaus.... never, never give up.
20# is a lot to lose in one month, but it’s a worthy goal.
You’re on the right track!
And don’t forget, you’ll need to ride the Griffon when you get here in July!
