If you have asthma, it’s not really a good idea to smoke a hookah, even though a lot of people think it’s a milder alternative to cigarettes.
But if you want to hear it from someone who knows, there’s an event tonight at the Marshall Center, from 6-7 p.m. in room 3712.
And if you stick around after the short discussion, you can get some free pizza and, of course, learn to belly dance.
The event is part of a project at USF and other universities around the country called Bringing Science Home.
The idea is to make life a little easier for college students who have chronic illnesses, such as asthma and diabetes.
Money for Bringing Science Home comes from The Patterson Foundation.
It established a $5.6 partnership with USF Health last year and just announced that it was extending that from three to five years.
It’s also setting up a dollar-for-dollar $2 million matching challenge.
If you have asthma, you can get more information about the program at USF on the Facebook page here.
