Guilt….It Is A Great Motivator

It is hard enough sometimes to get yourself motivated to exercise. I have discovered a new and terrifying way to get my motivation. My children. I have three. Their ages are ten, seven, and five. I told them Mommy is getting healthier by eating better and exercising more.

So, yesterday when the kids got home from school my seven and five year old wanted to ride their bikes. Sure, no problem. I set up my chair in the front yard and grabbed my water and my new creative memories catalog (thanks to my new creative memories consultant, Jennifer, who’s website address is http://www.mycmsite.com/jennan). I was all set to spend money, relax, and make sure my children weren’t squished by the next car.

Enter my wise cracking ten year old. “You know Mom you are working on getting healthier and a bike ride for you would be good.” I said “Yes, but I am relaxing and reading my magazine.” My five year old could care less, as long as he is beating his sisters while doing circles around the cul-de-sac. Then the final blow of guilt. My seven year old (the middle child, the expert manipulator) says, ” Yeah mom your butt is looking smaller. Go for a ride around the block with us.” That was the nail. The final deadly blow. I was on my bike before she finished the sentence.

After all this hard work I don’t care who tells you your butt looks smaller, it will motivate you to keep going. So this one is for my children who I love with all my heart. Thanks for the motivation and by the way, my butt is getting smaller.
