Halloween is the one day out of the year when you can be whoever, or whatever, you want. And we all have fantasies of doing – and being – things we couldn’t (or shouldn’t) be in everyday life.
For me, it’s always been about strong, beautiful women like Wonder Woman, Xena Warrior princess and Cleopatra (though she wasn’t a superhero, she was a true babe). Maybe I have a thing for power.
But not this year. I was looking for a change, and a BIG one. And I wanted it cheap (boy did I get my wish). No more standing in line the day before Halloween looking for a pricey, last-minute costume; give me some originality.
I left my look in the hands of some very talented women at Goodwill-Industries Suncoast. Chris Ward is marketing manager, and Georgia Dittmer is a marketing specialist for Goodwill. They turned me into a trashy trophy wife (eat your heart out Selma Blair)
Trust me. I don’t look like this on most days. Really, I don’t. And photojournalist Jay Nolan really brought out the trashiness in me (trust me, it took a lot of work).
Now head to Goodwill and create a look of your own.
Happy Halloween!

Cute idea for a costume!
Takes a lot of courage to wear that much sparkle!

OMG! Cloe, you got the look down - the ultimate trashy trophy wife! If they ever film “The Real Housewives Of Tampa Bay” you’ve got an outfit for the casting call!
You really hit on a good find: I’ve been shopping at Goodwill for my Halloween costumes for years. One time, I was a dead bride and found a real, and quite heinous, wedding dress (sequins and polyester, shudder!) for only $30!

I love that you can be so creative with your wardrobe for Halloween. Enough people don’t know about goodwills and the great pieces that you can find to create original costumes.
Kudos to you Cloe!

Girl, even when you try, you don’t look trashy, but GREAT costume! I got to get over to Goodwill and check it out. Thanks for the story.
