If you want to be a winner in politics, dress like either President Obama or Nancy Pelosi.

According to Huffington Post’s Style vs. Substance poll, conducted with Weatherproof, a majority (55.2% compared to 45.3%) say that presentation matters more than a politician’s policies. Two out of five (40%) said they’d opt to vote for a candidate who dresses well. The Poll also reveals Most Stylish politicians.

Here is a link to the survey results http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/16/style-vs-substance-survey_n_683070.html

President Obama and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi were voted the most stylish politicians, according to Weatherproof®’s Substance vs. Style poll which polled close to 18,000 people.

Other surprising findings?

More than 55 percent of those surveyed said that presentation matters, while only 45 percent said that a politician’s policies are more important than their presentation. Close to 40 perecent said they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who dresses well.

As for the hair, about 96 percent said that it wasn’t important for a politician to have a healthy, full head of hair, 33 perecent said that they would be less likely to vote for an overweight candidate, suggesting that when it comes to politicians’ appearance, Americans voters care about weight, than hair.
