I always say teachers have the most important jobs in the world. They’re overworked and underpaid. And they have to deal with kids from “Children of the Corn.”
Well, this contest is sure to put a smile on the face of any teacher; not to mention make her look and feel like a million bucks.
The “Back-in-School Extreme Makeover Contest” is open to teachers from Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties who could use a little mid-semester rejuvination. Local businesses have donated services including a vein treatment, microdermabrasion, Laser hair removal, skin rejuvination, movies tickets, restaurant gift certificate and more that will go to the winning teacher.
“It’s a small reward to show appreciation to one teacher who deserves to feel good on the inside and out,” said Dr. Edward G. MacKay, a vein specialist who thought of the idea after his wife, a title 1 elementary school teacher at Ponce de Leon Elememtary School, inspired him to give back to local educators.
To nominate a teacher - teachers can also nominate themselves - email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) the full name, telephone number and mailing address of the teacher, and a brief summary of why the teacher deserves to win a full makeover. You can also visit Back-in-School Extremem Makeover Contest on Facebook (Under Dr. MacKay Vein Specialist).
Also, if the teacher has spider veins, snap a picture of them so she can qualify for the removal (don’t worry, those photos are NOT for publication).
Dr. MacKay and his wife, Diane, will select the winning teacher in mid-November at the big makeover reveal.
