Egg on your face isn’t so bad when you’ve got oily skin

Who wants egg on their face? I do, if it’s going to clear up my oily skin. Celebrity makeup artist Kimara Ahnert says they will. Not only are egg whites great as a mask for oily skin, they also do a good job of tightening the skin and toning the pores.

Here’s Ahnert’s recipe for an Egg White Masque for Oily Skin:

Ingredients:
1 egg white
6 drops witch hazel
6 drops lemon juice

Whisk the egg white until it’s stiff and proceed to add lemon juice and witch hazel ingredients.  Gently apply the mixture to your face using clean hands or facial brush, avoiding your eyes.  Allow mask to dry for 15 minutes and then rinse face with warm water and follow with a moisturizer.

The egg whites soak up excess oil and tighten skin, while the witch hazel zaps oil and dries out blemishes.  The lemon juice is a natural ingredient that reduces excess oil.
