The Los Angeles Dodgers have their Dodger Dog. The Boston Red Sox have their Fenway Frank. And, this season, the Tampa Bay Rays have had their Rays Dog since the beginning of the season.
The 6-inch kid-size dog and the more adult 7-inch dog (which sell for $3 and $5 respectively) sold at the Trop pale in comparison to the quarter-pound frank that sells for $6. The makers, Kayem, make the Fenway Franks for Boston.
Just in time for All-Star weekend, the Rays Dogs are now going to be for sale at select groceries around the Tampa Bay area.
Kayem and Sweetbay, the team’s official grocery store, are hosting a meet-and-greet (and-eat?) with Rays infielder Reid Brignac tomorrow for fans to get an autograph and pick up some hot dog paraphernalia.
