Students are losing nearly 20 hours of class time this year due to 12 early-release days – days when students are dismissed two hours earlier so teachers can get together for common planning time.
There’s no room in the yearlong schedule to make that time up, administrators say.
But teachers at Westchase Elementary say they make the most of the time they have.
