This is me before CrossFit:

This is me after CrossFit:

Dang.
Corrie & D persuaded me to hit the warehouse again after a mere 48 hours. My back and shoulders were still recovering from Tuesday’s fun.
The warm-up:
3X10
*Pull-ups
*Sit-ups
*Double unders/40 singles
What the heck are double unders? Watch the video above. I can do one at a time. No joke.
We spent a lot of time on the double unders, with Nathan urging us to use more wrist and less arm. We had to resort to the 40 singles.
Then the workout:
*100 walking lunges
Simple. I could knock that out in my sleep.
Except they were OVERHEAD walking lunges at 45 pounds.
Well, Corrie & D were able to bang out the 45 pounds.
Me? Not so much. I couldn’t quite get to the “overhead” part without feeling like the bar would come crashing down on my head.

(See, Nathan. I came clean.)
(Also notice the sexy sweat ring going on—from just the WARM-UP.)
Instead I had to drop to 35 pounds. And I still felt like my arms were going to fall off.
The catch to our workout: Every time we had to put the bar down to rest, we had to do 10 push-ups.
I challenge you to give this workout a try. It is brutal.

I made it to 27 before I had to take a “break.” Are you kidding? Ten push-ups after that?
I slowly and gingerly continued through the countdown, about 10 extremely painful lunges at a time accompanied by 10 grueling and sweaty push-ups.
I’m not really sure how I survived, other than the fact that D & Corrie were suffering with me.
And then there was poor Nathan urging us on from his pimp chair, flanked by a walker and wheelchair.
Remember, friends don’t let friends give up at CrossFit!
