Hi, and welcome to The Stew!
What will you find here? Well, like the name of this blog, and like the act of blogging itself, there will be a little bit of everything.
I’ll be sure to post a ton of links to great food Web sites. The useful (EthnicGrocer.com). The amusing The One Hundred Dollar Hamburger). The stupid (The Damndest Thing). The disturbing (The Modern Moist Towelette Awards).
I’ll post lots of photos of great places to eat around the Tampa Bay area.
I’ll introduce you to the people who cook and serve your food. (You’ve got to meet the Duchess at Niko’s Diner on Florida. She’s a real sweetheart.)
I’ll let you know when we have tantalizing stories in the Tampa Tribune’s Flavor section (like this story and this sidebar story on Burrito Brothers coming to Tampa)
And I’ll be sure to pass along plenty of recipes and tips.
What I hope is that you’ll join the fun. Blogs without readers are, well, boring. There’s a reason we ask for comments: it turns a monologue into a conversation.
And if you can’t talk about food, why go on living, really?
That’s what I say, anyway.
What about you?

The moist towelette thing is pretty funny. Will link to it on my blog.
