I had a a quick and exciting getaway to New York this weekend.
It was a whirlwind trip to the city accompanying one of our top researchers at Moffitt. We had business meetings Monday.
And that meant I had all weekend to play.
I arrived bright and early Saturday in time to score brunch with some friends in the East Village.
Then it was time to get a facial at Lia Schorr, which was honoring Spa Week prices all month.
Then we hit Broadway to do some serious shopping in the city.
That included some candied peanuts from a street vendor. Mmm.
Then we head back to Brooklyn to get ready to eat—again. We hit miriam for a Moroccan flair.
Then it was off to a chocolate bar for some dessert.
The next day, we missed the truck serving Belgian waffles with chocolate in Park Slope.
Drizzle spoiled our Prospect Park picnic plans, but we regrouped at Loki Lounge.
We set up our picnic at the bar, which didn’t serve food. We brought everything from cheeses and crackers to grapes, strawberries and pears to olives, hummus and nuts. Yum-my!
After failing miserably at pool and dominating in darts, we headed back home to get ready for dinner. Yes, more food. Beginning to notice a pattern?
The thing is, I spent the entire weekend walking everywhere. I burned a lot more calories than I would have sitting on the couch or driving around town.
I indulged in a business lunch at Bar Americain, one of Bobby Flay‘s restaurants.
Despite the cold and rain of New York, I had a fabulous weekend!
