The Independent Independent Handbag and Shoe Awards were handed out Thursday night at the New York Historical Society.

Let’s hear it for the “Best Shoe in Overall Design” winner Rafael Young.

These hot, hot, hot platform sandals definetely make a statement. They’re edgy enough to please the most daring fashionista, and stylish enough to become real trendsetters.

Now, Young gets to collaborate with Sam Edelman shoes and Foot Petals to design this limited edition pair of shoes that will be sold exclusively at Verve in New York City and www.footpetals.com. Petals are those groovy little inserts that make wearing heels bearable.

And you’re going to need petals to don these sexy sky-scraper stilettos. (Please, please let them come in a size 11).
