I’ve invested a couple of years into trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
The strict qualifying times make it the elite race for distance runners.
For my age and gender, I need a 3:40 to qualify.
Scary? Yes.
Can I do it? Yes.
I came close last year, finishing the Bank of America Marathon in 3:53 with a bum knee.
It can be agonizing to invest so much time and energy into training and come up short. I get it.
What I don’t get is trying to cheat your way to Boston.
“2008 Boston Marathon entry on the FRONT ROW Must See!!” read the eBay entry.
Yep, someone tried to sell a spot at Boston.
But it just so happened to be against the rules.
There were 0 items found for “Boston Marathon entry” tonight. It’s only fair.
