Every week, I look forward to Weekend Eats submissions, just to see who will surprise me with the food they choose to make and eat.
Lisa Lawless, who goes by @lisaiscooking on Twitter, is an Austin, Texas, blogger who does a great food site.
The picture above of her mini-pies is just such an example.
Here’s what her blog is about:
I have a little problem. I’m addicted to cookbooks, food writing, recipe collecting, and cooking. I have a lot of recipes waiting for me to try them, and ideas from articles, TV and restaurants often lead to new dishes. I started losing track of what I’ve done. So now I’m taking photos and writing about what I’ve prepared—unless it’s terrible, in which case I forget it ever happened.
I feel your pain, Lisa.
Here are the rest of this week’s submissions from my friends on Twitter and Facebook:
@CaraBarone - Spinach, mushroom, goat cheese & chive omelette from #Sunday’s in #ybor (sorry no pic)
@Brewkkake - Five Walgreens-brand ibuprofen for breakfast after a night of drinking @funkybuddhabrew’s awesome
@JHochstat - Had an amazing tasting menu at Tuyo in Miami. Norman’s team did great job. Foie Gras French Toast was highlight.
@tampawinewoman - baking success from @Food52 Bacon Coffee Cake adding to @oncebittentampa
@LynnATL - Made Jerusalem Artichoke Soup with goodies from the farmer’s market.
@SarahSeesSports - Avocado egg rolls at Kona after leaving the sports bar following the #Bucs loss
@Zachor - red beans and rice from the Cajun Café
@stresscake - Fried Chicken & Waffles w/all the sides & Salted Caramel Apple Pie & for good measure Dim Sum Sunday Brunch
@Tiff_Griff -Strawberry cheesecake cupcake & mint chocolate brownie!

@sekimori - Sliders with sweet chile sauce, oven fries, avocados and Sam Adams.
@RobinRipley - Simply sinful cinnamon muffins from the King Arthur recipe. OMG. Wonderful.
@SuwanneeRefugee - Philly cheesesteak from delcos in Dunedin. Showed self control and did not buy tasty cake.
@familyfoodie - Flan with Candied Raspberries MMMMM…. So good!
@fsutoby - caramel nut roll DQ Blizzard while watching nutty Les Miles beat Bama.
@SaintPetersblog - Banh Mi from Cafe Sab in the heart of downtown St. Pete.
Stuart Reb Donald - I had some delicious Dollar General knock-offs of Pop Tarts. They’re half the price and just as good.
Shirley Steele - A gyro from a stand at the MacDill Airfest. Sometimes its not always about the best food but the location, the person your with, and the level of hunger!
Laura Turke Fontanills - I made a yummy buttermilk poundcake with tres leches sauce.
And Hungarian Goulash for dinner last night.
@flmnca - crawfish pie and pan seared garlic lemon jumbo sea scallops

Really? Dollar General knock off Pop Tarts ranks as a meal worthy of reporting on TBO?

Everybody’s gotta eat something, Doc.
What did you have over the weekend?

Ok, that’s just mean. Showing those great pix and no recipes.
