Manatee Chef lands on Gordon Ramsey’s “Hell’s Kitchen”

  Fox informs us that Jamie Gregorich, 24, from Bradenton is among the 18 contestants on “Hell’s Kitchen” which returns on July 18.

Gregorich is a Sous Chef whose signature dish is “Lollipop Lamb Chop with Red Onion Confiture.” She has taught at Manatee Technical Instutue’s Culinary Arts program and worked at Euphemia Hayes Restuarant in Long Boat Key, Florida

Fox press release: “On the season premiere, the table is set for some intense competition as Chef Ramsay once again lights a fire under a team of chefs with a series of challenges to see who has the hunger to win. In the season premiere, Ramsay starts the competition with the signature-dish challenge and is disappointed right from the start. During dinner service, one contestant is rushed to the hospital and things go downhill quickly from there.”

David Hasselhoff to play former porn star on FX series

TV Guide is reporting that David Hasselhoff has signed on to play a porn star on the FX series “Sons of Anarchy.” His episodes should air in Octoner.

Reportedy, The Hoff will play Dondo, “a well-endowed former porn star who is has become a producer of sleazy adult films.

Oh, be thankful for the “former” qualifier. That means he’s probably not going to be nude in any scenes.

Fox picks ‘The Five’ to Replace Glenn Beck

Apparently it will take five talking heads and more to replace the departing Glenn Beck on Fox News Channel.

The network plans to launch a new weekday program on Monday (July 11 at 5 p.m.). Bill Shine, Executive Vice President of Programming for the network. says “The Five"will serve as a replacement for Glenn Beck during the summer.

Beck’s contract was not renewed and he has moved on to host his own Internet show.

Thie temporary Fox opinion show will feature a roundtable ensemble of five rotating Fox personalities who will banter about top news stories, controversies and issues of the day.

In making the announcement, Shine said, “The Five brings together an eclectic group of FOX talent whose knowledge of key issues and unique insights will undoubtedly make for a dynamic program.”

Some of the revolving personalities to be showcased in the weekly ensemble include: Greg Gutfeld, Juan Williams, Dana Perino, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Geraldo Rivera, Andrea Tantaros, Eric Bolling, Monica Crowley, Bob Beckel and Kimberly Guilfoyle. The program will also feature added guests, including politicians, celebrities, sports figures and key newsmakers

New Comic Book to Tell Conan O’Brien’s Lifestory

You migth say Conan O’Brien is already an animated guy. But come August he’ll be starring in his own comic book.

“FAME: Conan O’Brien” is being produced by the Bluewater Productions comic book company. It is scheduled to be released in August 2011 and have a cover price of $3.99.

Publisher Darren G. Davis says “Our goal is to show the little-known events and influences that resulted in Conan O’Brien becoming the superstar he is today, almost two decades after bursting on the national scene.”

CNN Plans Special Coverage of Last Space Shuttle Launch

This release from CNN:

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper will lead the network’s team of reporters from Cape Canaveral, FL for the special live coverage of the final launch of the United States Space Shuttle program. Space Shuttle: Final Mission will air on CNN/U.S. and CNN International on Friday, July 8 from 10 a.m. to noon.  Former astronauts Cady Coleman and Senator Bill Nelson, and historian Douglas Brinkley will join CNN’s coverage.

Space Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to launch at 11:26 a.m. on Friday.. 

As in the past during major news events, thousands of people in New York Times Square will be able to watch CNN’s coverage of this historic moment.

More than one million spectators are expected to converge on Cape Canaveral to witness the final launch.
