John Allman

If you’ve ever wandered the aisles at the video store or surfed the DVR pay-per-view options and seen a bunch of movies that you’ve never heard of, chances are John has watched them. Why? He loves movies. All kinds of movies. Good, bad, so-bad-they’re good, even the truly unwatchable ones. He mostly loves horror and science-fiction and drive-in exploitation movies that most upstanding model citizens wouldn’t dare watch. Then he writes up his thoughts so you can decide - watch, don’t watch or avoid at all costs. Sometimes he even gets to talk to the cool folks who make some of your favorite films.

It was a close call but Fox and the producers of “Bones: finally cut a deal for at least one more season of the romantic thriller.

The network and 20th Century Fox TV made the announcement this morning but star David Boreanaz already confirmed it in a Twitter note Monday night that “Season 7 is GO for Bones.”

Even though “Bones” has good ratings it has become costly to produce because the cast gets raises every season and its been on six years.  At last report, Fox was still haggling over the future of “House.”
Here is the official release issued today:

FOX has renewed the hit series BONES for a seventh season, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

“BONES is creatively fresh, it’s a rock-solid player every time it airs and this season it has helped us win on Thursday nights for the first time in our history,” said Reilly. “Hart Hanson and the fantastic cast and crew, as well as the millions of loyal BONES fans, make this show really special, and I’m excited to have it on our air for another stellar season.”

In the all-new “The Signs in the Silence” episode, airing Thursday, May 5 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), a 15-year-old Jane Doe, who is hearing impaired and unable to communicate, is found on the streets covered in blood and wielding a knife, leading the team to believe she is responsible for a recent murder. Will American Skip Royal Wedding Coverage? New Survey Finds Little Interest

Posted Apr 28, 2011 by Walt Belcher

Updated Apr 28, 2011 at 07:27 AM

Is the media more excited about the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton than the American public?

A new survey finds a majority of news consumers (78 percent) say they have not been paying much attention to the media build-up to Friday’s wedding. Interest may increase Friday but given the early morning ceremony it’s likely many won’t be saying “I do” to the coverage.

The survey this week by the Project for Excellence in Journalism found that 64 percent said there has been “too much” coverage of the royal couple and the pending wedding.

Even so the PEJ projects a “sizeable” audience, especially older women. About a third of women 50 and over said they planned to watch.

In a sampling of 1,000 adults, only 8 percent said they were watching the pre-weddng coverage “very closely” with 13 percent watching “fairly closely,” while 25 percent were slightly interested. And 63 percent said they weren’t following the coverage.

However, most people will see at least a replay of the events because television will be saturated with coverage on Friday.
