I thought “Lost” was really on its game last night.
There were a lot of great moments, but my favorite was how Jacob nonchalantly walked up to Hurley and says, “Hey, Hurley. You got a minute?”
Some other thoughts:
1. Looks like the producers have gone whole hog with parallel dimensions, which is actually real science! Or at least it’s a real interpretation by some scientists of quantum mechanics. You can read about it in great detail right here.
2. I love what they did last night with Jack and Sawyer. “Lost” writers have always done a great job showing how someone who is well intentioned (Jack) can sometimes do terrible things and how someone who is completely self-involved (Sawyer) can sometimes do good things. Last night was exceptional in this regard, especially with Jack.
3. Jack’s plan actually worked, but the show continues in a dimension where it didn’t work, and you’ve got Sawyer holding Juliette’s dead body screaming, “You do this!” at Jack. Feel the guilt, baby!
4a. In the dimension where the plan DOES work, you’ve got Charlie resenting Jack for saving him from choking on a bag of heroin. Feel the guilt, again, doc!
5. It’ll be interesting to see where they take Sawyer now. He’s been very bad (stealing, shooting people, strangling people with chains, generally getting his anger on) and even not-so-good when it looks like he’s good (jumping out of a helicopter to save people when really it was to avoid a relationship). But with Juliette, he became a “good guy.” Now he’s lost her and he’s back in anger mode. But will he revert to being “Bad Sawyer?”
6. Poor John Locke. “You know what his last thought was? ‘I don’t understand.’”

“Lost” may have stumped fans last night, but it did so eloquently.
The show was chock-full of memorable lines. Here are a few:
Juliet to Sawyer: “I have to tell you something. It’s really, really important.” Then she dies.
Jin to Sun: “Button your sweater up.”
Locke to Ben after he was Smoke Monster killing people: “I’m sorry you had to see me like that.”
Sawyer to Hurley: “You shouldn’t tell people you’re a lotto winner they might take advantage of you.”
Hurley to Sawyer: “Nothing ever happens to me I’m the luckiest man alive.”
Locke to Ben: “Let’s not resort to name-calling.”
When Jack inquires about Locke’s paralysis on the plane –
Locke: “My condition is irreversible.”
Jack: “Nothing is irreversible.”
When Jacob visits Hurley in the jungle –
Jacob: Your friend won’t be able to see me.
Hurley: Why not?
Jacob: I died an hour ago.
Hurley: Sorry dude, that sucks. How’d you die?
Jacob: I was killed by an old friend who grew tired of my company.
Hurley: You want me to do something crazy again, don’t you?
Charlie after Jack resuscitates him: “You should have let it happen, man. I was supposed to die.”
Jack to Rose on the plane: “Looks like we made it.”
Juliet to Sawyer: “It didn’t work. We’re still on the island. I hit the bomb, but you’re still here.”
What are your fave quotes from last night’s show?

The recap will be posted soon, but I just wanted to jump in and say: “WOW.”
I was surprised. Saddened. Confused. And, thanks to watching Jimmy Kimmel talking with “Lost” producers, enlightened.
Here’s what Damon and Carlton had to say:
1. We’re going to get a good dose of the numbers in future episodes.
2. May 23 is when the series will end. That’s a Sunday. Commence with your party plans.
3. It was just a coincidence that when we see Charlie on the plane, we stop seeing Desmond.
4. Mike and Walt weren’t on the plane—that was planned.
5. It was also planned that we wouldn’t see Shannon.
6. The title of the episode “LA X” ... there is a reason for the space between those letters.
7. There is a reason why in this episode Jack was anxious when the plane experienced turbulence and Rose was calm—the opposite of what happened in the pilot.
8. It was also planned that Jack would have one less vodka bottle on the plane. (???)
9. Locke is the Smoke Monster. (duh)
10. When Kimmel asked the producers if Jacob was “living in Sayid,” they told him to watch a few more episodes because his theory may evolve.
Discuss.
P.S. Julia declares that the bomb worked and she appears to be right—or why is the island now underwater. Atlantis?
PPS Did anyone get the sense of “Lost Horizon” when Hurley and friends took Sayid to the Temple. It was very Shangri-La, to me.
The show was great! Confusing, but great.

I am weak. I just couldn’t wait until Tuesday.
While, many of you were fast asleep Saturday after midnight, this Lost spoiler hound was one of thousands on the internet watching the first hour of Lost’s Final Season at Hawaii’s “Sunset on the Beach Premiere.”
Before you run away from this Blog, no worries - I will not reveal anything I saw during the episode, except only to say it was amazing and it felt more like a season or series finale. I can’t wait to watch it again (plus the second hour for the first time) tomorrow night.
This premiere has been somewhat a tradition on the beach (there wasn’t one last season), and there are many fans crazier than I am who who have flown to Hawaii to catch a glimpse of the stars on the red carpet. As far as I know, this was the first time that someone (a fan named Bruce) was able to stream the entire proceedings from a hotel window.
I thought for sure the stream was going to crash before the episode aired due to increasing numbers hitting the server, but once the show started the quality of the video was surprisingly good. If it wasn’t for the sound problems, it would have been near perfect.
The sound of police sirens or motorcyles zipping by the drive-in like theater made it difficult if not impossible to pick up the dialogue in certain scenes. As a result, there are unconfirmed rumours on many Lost forum sites right now of what was indeed said. You may want to avoid such sites until after the premiere aires tomorrow night.

With one night left until the big premiere you might be getting headaches and nosebleeds from trying to remember last season, I suggest you grab the Season 5 DVD and check out these episodes to help get caught up:
The Incident Part 1 and 2 — The season finale is a must watch to remember where we left off and to figure out who is dead, who is trapped in 1977, and who fell down a big hole.
The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham — This episode gives you the low down on Locke’s mission to get everyone back to the island.
Follow the Leader — Locke takes his place as the leader of the Others and check out all the clues that reveal the true identity of Locke.
For those who don’t have the season 5 DVD, ABC will be running a recap episode 8 p.m. Tuesday before the two-hour season premiere.
