Who’s The Best Treasure Hunter?

While we count down the hours until our midnight screening of “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” let’s take an informal survey. In the comments, pick your favorite of the following pop culture treasure hunters:

Indiana Jones from “Raiders of the Lost Ark”

Lara Croft of “Tomb Raider” fame

Pitfall Harry from the classic Activision video game “Pitfall!”

The martini-drinking stick-figure guy from “The Kingdom of Loathing”

For me, it’s a tough call. I mean, they all have their charms. Pitfall Harry was the originator. Indy is just plain cool. Lara Croft boasts an impressive pair of (wait for it ...) dual semi-automatic pistols. And the KoL guy can battle a sabre-toothed lime without spilling his drink. I just can’t decide.

Posted by  Doug Donaldson, Tampa on 05/21  at  07:29 PM

Pitfall Harry wins hands down. Nothing better than spending an entire afternoon playing the game, getting 96% through the game, losing your last life and then starting back at square one....

Who are the Couch Potatoes?
  • Master Sergeant in 'Rainbow Six: Vegas'ROMMIE JOHNSON is a standard carbon-based lifeform who covers entertainment for TBO.com and the Tribune as an occasional diversion from the maelstrom of doubt that boils within.

  • And, yes, he gets paid for this. Which is a good thing, because his parents are raising the rent.
