The Warlocks may be at two-thirds of their peak size but that doesn’t mean their strength is diminished.
From a peak of nine members – four on guitar and two on drums – The Warlocks currently are listing a six-man lineup on its Web site. Latest album “Heavy Deavy Skull Lover” (2007) finds the band channeling the old sonic bombast into new avenues of lysergic exploration.
With like-minded bad-trippers Black Angels sharing the bill, Saturday’s show at Crowbar should have the crowd peaking early and often.
Crowbar is at 1812 17th St. in Ybor City. Doors are at 9 p.m. and the cover is $12. Call (813) 241-8600.
