Tony Rock, brother of Chris Rock, is getting his own comedy reality series on MyNetworkTV. (seen in Tampa on WTTA, Channel 38).
Network President Greg Meidel announced today plans for “The Tony Rock Project” from Langley and C To The B Productions. The comedic reality series is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2008 on Wednesday nights at 8:30 p.m.
The half-hour program features the unique humor of hot young comedian Tony Rock, younger brother of Chris Rock, as he observes the hilarious habits of regular people. Through “man on the street” style interviews and hidden camera segments, Rock uses his comedic style to expose some of society’s stereotypes, hang-ups and prejudices.
In making the announcement, Meidel stated, “We are thrilled to continue our strong relationship with Langley Productions and C To The B Productions with the upcoming premiere of ‘The Tony Rock Project.’ Tony’s charming personality, quick witted comedy and cutting edge social commentary makes the program a perfect addition to our Wednesday night comedy block.”
Langley Productions, which created “Cops” for Fox, also produces ’ “Jail” and “Street Patrol.”
