It is a bad sign when the network denies what its own promotions dept says about a show.
Promotions calls it “edgy with gay characters” and “minister with substance abuse problems.”
Then the network say it is not pro-homosexual or anti-christian.
Someone is lying. I am not watching.

I have already touched upon this on my blog Le Petite Morte and this is what I had to say.
Thank God for the conservative Christians, deliver us from evil and please continue to preach censorship and unacceptance of others. You know just how dangerous freedom of speech and expression is, we can’t tolerate that kind of behavior here in America. And if the networks keep producing shows like “The Book of Daniel” then it won’t be much longer before we are all fornicating with animals and running naked through the streets.
Por (Charles Cacioppo) on January 06, 2006
Why bother with the TV series like this? Is there is nothing else that NBC can put on their network that is ‘comedy’. I think this is a last ditch measure by the network executives to bolster a schedule that is ‘tanked’.
We have enough on the generic pile called ‘TV’ and do not need this added to the ‘heap’.
Por (TOM WINEMAN) on January 06, 2006
Everything I have heard about the show so far is disgusting.
How come they didn’t give it a Moslem setting?
Por (Mitchel Banks) on January 06, 2006
I very rarely watch network television at all anymore due to tasteless programimg. From the previews I’ve seen of “The Book of Daniel”, it looks like they’ve taken every controversial subject thay could find and thrown it in. We will not be watching it in my house, and I would be leary of doing business with the advertisers that would support such a show. Somebody at NBC really should have their head examined.
Por (Robin) on January 06, 2006
I feel the show is wrong and will not watch it. But as far as censorship, it is my job to censor what my family watches, not anyone elses. Thank God we live in America and can make our own decisions.

GIVE ME A BREAK!
You all need to get off the bible belt, and remember….IT IS JUST TELEVISION! Hello? Not real? For your viewing pleasure? If you don’t like it, don’t watch. Plain & simple.
This is America, you have the “RIGHT” not to watch, and the “FREEDOM” to change the channel. So why not excercise your rights, instead of preaching your beliefs to the rest of society. There are bigger things to worry about than a TV show!
Por (Diane Stephenson) on January 06, 2006
Why is NBC degrading itself by airing such a despicable series? This series is not in the least bit entertaining but is totally WRONG and totally REPUGNANT!
I will not be watching. Woe to the companies who sponsor this program.
Por (Shirley Mills) on January 06, 2006
What is wrong with networks? I’m appalled at the current programming - Sex and the City, Will & Grace, That 70’s Show, etc. I guess networks need new writers. Look at the old shows that long surpassed these current ones, Bob Newhart, Carol Burnett, Seinfeld. Can’t they come up with any new material? Even some shows that have PG13 rating should be censored. I thought we were a smart, moral, and character-building nation. Hire me! I wonder where else I can live?
Por (Betty Sikes) on January 06, 2006
It is disgusting that NBC would produce a program like “The Book of Daniel” which is not only sacrilegious but blasphemous also. Programs like that are bad for children as well as those who do not know what The Holy Bible says. I would hope that those at Channel 8 would reconsider and not air this program since it has no redeeming qualities and is detrimental to those who will be viewing it. We will not be watching such a blasphemous program and trust that others are wise enough not to watch also.
Por (Marsha Daniels) on January 06, 2006
I can’t believe there’s such a fuss over a show that hasn’t been on TV yet, just a preview. People, get out and get a life and worry about something that has meaning to it and not a stupid show that is not real. Have all of you forgotten that part? It’s TV. Why don’t you spend your time on important issues?
Por (Doris Crouse) on January 06, 2006
I really have a problem with the Bible and my Lord being made fun of. Daniel was a terrific man of faith in scripture, not an imbecile with a homosexual making gestures at him. He was cast into a lion’s den for his faith and God protected him. If NBC is trying to pick up new watchers this is not the way. In fact, they will be losing me as a watcher.
Por (Camisha) on January 06, 2006
This is not the first lie ever told to the masses regarding Jesus or God. The Bible teaches that Jesus is a Black man, so that’s lets you know how real this show is going to be. If you are threatened then maybe you ought to check your foundation. It shouldn’t be so easily shook. If you don’t want to watch, nobody’s forcing you do. It’s pure and simple entertainment.
Por (Pamela) on January 06, 2006
I agree with Robin. I am a Christian, a mother, a wife, and the daughter of a minister…raised in the church. It is our job to manage what is on the TV in our homes, not the local TV station. Many in my family have fought for the freedoms we have in this country.
Channel 8: don’t cave to religious fundamentalists who, in my opinion, focus on the divisive elements of issues and miss living out the true teachings of Jesus.
Por (Brian Lee) on January 06, 2006
Get real, its only a TV show. And by the way there is humor in everything. It hasn’t even aired yet and people already making judgements. What’s happened to all of us? Stop making judgements before you get ALL the Facts.
Por (Jay) on January 06, 2006
How narrow minded are those who say “it is just TV”. This is an assault on good people of faith. What cowards these people are in Hollywood. They would never allow such a depiction of muslims or Jews. It is only Christians who are under attack of oue values.
Por (Stacey) on January 06, 2006
I am really getting a kick out of all of the bible-beating, fundamentalists writing here. SERIOUSLY, you all have brightened my day! I am actually a bit surprised how many there are. Hmf. Oh well. I can’t wait to see this show and I hope it’s the BEST show on TV and gets LOADS of viewers and stays on the air for years. It’s friggin’ ART. Why don’t you all start burning books again while you’re at it?! HAHA! You backwards people make me ill. Rock on NBC/ Ch. 8! Good for you!
Por (Diane) on January 06, 2006
I am very disappointed with the Book of Daniel; after all, would Hollywood produce and air a show that protrayed a drug-addicted MUSLIM cleric; his alcoholic MUSLIM wife; his son, a homosexual MUSLIM; his daughter, a 16-year-old MUSLIM drug dealer; etc.? I think I can say that the answer to that is no. But it’s okay to do that to Christianity, which proves to me that Christians, even today, are being persecuted.
Por (Joanne) on January 06, 2006
Get over yourselves, people. It’s a TV show. If enough people DON’T watch it, they’ll take it off the air. Turn off the TV and go read a book!
Por (Marshall Kornegay) on January 06, 2006
May God have mercy on this country. Christians are being persecuted as always.
Por (Hugo T. Pereira) on January 06, 2006
This show is simply more trash tv just trying to see how far it can go to shock you with more dysfunction in one family than you can believe this is where this country is headed right into the garbage heap led there by the media tv and Hollywood
force-feeding our young people immorality, rugs ,and permissive sex
Por (P. Gifford) on January 06, 2006
The Book of Daniel is not based on bibical truth and is an offense to Christians and it hurts the furtherance of the Gospel. WFLA, you are showing your anti-christian position by willingly supporting a lie and not caring about the consequences. You have a choice, don’t show this program.
Por (Phil Maitino) on January 06, 2006
My wife and I are first and foremost devout Catholic Christians. We have seen previews and are appaled at the lack of reverence shown by NBC. Until last week we were committed viewers. However, your lack of empathy for Christians has caused us to switch to Fox news as our main source. I sincerly hope the faithful Christians of all denominations join in our boycott.
Por (Mully) on January 06, 2006
I have been a regular viewer of channel 8 and was a member of 8’s Army as well. Your decision to air this trash(not trash, but really an attack on my faith) has lost this loyal viewer. Their are things worth making a stand for-and this is definitely one!
Por (Carmen) on January 06, 2006
This is only another real and visible sign that Jesus is coming SOON!!!
