George Clooney has rounded up some major performers for the “Hope for Haiti” telethon this Friday.
At the Golden Globes, Clooney told The Associated Press that Bono, Sting, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera will sing during the two-hour telethon. Since then, the guest list has grown to include Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Anna Kendrick, Sandra Bullock and “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson.
MTV will stage the “Hope for Haiti” telethon at 8 p.m. Friday.
The two-hour event will air without commercials on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT. It will be available as well on MTV Networks International, CNN International and National Geographic channels across the globe.
Clooney will host from Los Angeles, and Wyclef Jean will host from New York City. CNN’s Anderson Cooper will be in Haiti.
The money raised will be divided among five relief groups: Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF and Yele Haiti Foundation. The official social media partners are Facebook and MySpace.
