When she tried to set up a book signing in her hometown of Sarasota, Diana Daffner was told her book “would not be appropriate” for the area’s book-buying residents. Why? Because the book is about sexual intimacy. It’s not like Daffner is hiding that—the book is called “Tantric Sex for Busy Couples.”
Undeterred, Daffner approached the Barnes and Noble in St. Petersburg, where she now is scheduled for an Oct. 17 appearance to discuss and sign her book, which she says got a bit of a bad rap in Sarasota. In an email sent to me, Daffner said of the book, “Anyone who opens the book realizes right away that I am offering inspirational and practical information about intimacy.” She argues that intimacy is important at all ages and stages of a relationship.
Can’t argue with that, right? Diana will appear at the book signing with her husband, Richard, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Barnes and Noble is located at 2501 Tyrone Boulevard in St. Petersburg.
