WFTS, Channel 28, anchor and health reporter Linda Hurtado under went a five-hour double mastectomy operation Wednesday and, according a posting on her Facebook page, there were no complications.
Her husband, Jorge Figueredo, wrote that the procedure was a success.
Hurtado, 44, decided on the surgery after being diagnosed with a early stage of breast cancer. On Tuesday, she told viewers of ABC Action News of her decision.
“I am very proud of Linda and [the] choice to share something so personal with everyone. My hope is that her story will motivate those of you who are delaying to make your mammogram appointments,” her husband wrote.
