SUMMER TV SIZZLES: HERE’S What’s Hot


Summer time and the viewing is easy. 
Reality’s jumping and anticipation is high. 
Oh your daddy’s got the remote control and your mamma just sighs.

Here’s what I’ll be watching this summer: 

“Mad Men” coming back to AMC on July 27; “In Plain Sight” debuting Sunday on USA; “Monk,” coming back on July 18; “Burn Notice” coming back on July 10; and a whole lot of other stuff from the list below:

SCRIPTED GOODIES:

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS) returns Wednesday (June 4).

Fear Itself (NBC) debuts Thursday (June 5). It’s a 13-episode horror anthology like “Tales From the Crypt.”

Swingtown (CBS) debuts Thursday (June 5): Sexy swingers bed hop in Chicago in the 1970s.

Charlie Jade (Sci Fi) debuts Friday (June 6). A rogue cop travels through three parallel universes.

Army Wives (Lifetime) and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (USA) both return June 8.

The Bill Engvall Show and My Boys (TBS) return June 12.

The Middleman (ABC Family) debuts June 16.

Weeds (Showtime) returns June 16.

Secret Diary of a Call Girl (Showtime) debuts June 16

Psych and Monk (USA) July 18

The Factory (Spike): debuts June 29. It’s a blue-collar comedy about nutty guys who work in a factory.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager (ABC Family) debuts July 1

The Closer and Saving Grace (TNT) both return July 14
