St. Pete Native Makes “Idol” Top 12

I hated to see Katie Epperly get cut from “American Idol” because she’s so darn cute. Love that hair. And being cute would be all one needs to be an Idol these days.

St. Petersburg native Michael Lynche sailed through and should be in the running until the end of this season.

Also cut Thursday night were Alex Lambert (we had a Lambert win last season) and Todrick Hall (involved the Oz musical that never happened) and Lilly Scott (a surprise considering she’s got a good voice).

Never liked Hall. And Alex Lambert is no Adam Lambert. He shouldn’t have been in the top 24.

A surprise save was Paige Miles (who comes from Naples). She’s a good singer but she bombed this week.  If she rebounds, she could stick around.

The rest include 16-year-old Aaron Kelly; cutie Tim Urban, Katie Stevens, Crystal Bowersox, Siobhan Magnus, Didi Benami, Lee Dewyze, Casey James, Andrew Garcia and Lacey Brown.

They will perform from the Rolling Stones songbook next week
