Six-year-old Michael Livingston, a resident of the Florida Keys, will wake up to snow on Christmas Day thanks to The Weather Channel.
He is the winner of the network’s “Guaranteed White Christmas” contest. His granddad, Howard Livingston, submitted the winning video in a nationwide contest.
TWC and meteorologist Adam Berg will report live from the Florida Keys on Dec. 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to capture the spectacle and the family’s reaction as their waterfront home transforms into a winter wonderland.
Other contest finalists include Phoebe Garcia from Spring Hill, who will receive a $100 gift card for the Weather.com store and DVD collector’s editions of TWC programs including “When Weather Changed History” and “Epic Conditions.” Finalists will also receive The Weather Channel’s “Holiday Party” CD, autographed by Aaron Neville, whose single “Please Don’t Forget” is featured on the CD.
A panel of judges from TWC viewed video submissions and chose winners based on uniqueness and creativity.
TWC will air a half-hour “Guaranteed White Christmas Special” at 9:30 p.m. Friday, showcasing the best of the video submissions and interviews with the grand prize winner.
