It was supposed to be just an urban legend told to frighten interns around spring training campfires. The Candyagent, a creature of pure malice that haunts the front offices of Major League franchises, hell-bent on murdering the integrity of the game of baseball.
If a general manager says his name five times during a contract negotiation it is believed that he will appear in a swarm of bees and destroy a team’s luxury tax for the next four years – with a team option for a fifth.

And now the secret lair of this insidious evil has been uncovered.
Stadium crews at Angels Stadium in Anaheim discovered a swarm of bees in Scott Boras’ field level suite on Sunday after the insects spilled into the front row seats behind home plate.
Although there were no signs of the dark lord himself, his minion of honey-makers were quickly subdued by the stadium crew using industrial vacuums.
