Now, that’s expensive wine

At the Crown Publishing office, apparently they call the book, “The Billionaire’s Vinegar” by a different title: Midnight in the Garden of Chateau Lafite. The nonfiction book, by Benjamin Wallace, follows the mystery and lore surrounding a 1787 bottle of Chateau Lafite Bordeaux sold at auction in 1985. The question: was the bottle a fake? Or was it really owned at one point by Thomas Jefferson? This book breaks it down, and also provides insight into the world of the insanely rich.

Also in nonfiction, Lt. Lynn “Buck” Compton offers Call of Duty, which details his experience “before, during and after the Band of Brothers.” The forward is written by John McCain, the Republican nominee for president.

In fiction, David Housewright offers Madman on a Drum, the latest in a series about unlicensed private investigator Rushmore McKenzie. This time, he’s trying to solve a case involving the murder of a childhood friend. This one’s worth noting for mystery fans, as Housewright has won an Edgar Award (for Dead Boyfriends).
