MCA Treated For Tumor

Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys is being treated for a cancerous tumor, according to a statement from EMI, parent company of the Beasties’ label, Capitol.

According to the statement, Yauch “was diagnosed last week as having a cancerous tumor in his left parotid (salivary) gland. Luckily it was caught early and is localized in one area, and as such is considered very treatable.”

The group has canceled its upcoming tour dates and is postponing the release of its upcoming album, “Hot Sauce Committee Part 1.”
