The AARP’s Orlando@50 event this week offers celebrity-filled events including lectures, seminars and entertainment designed to appeal to baby boomers. Marlo Thomas, who used to be “That Girl,” is now That Senior and she’s speaking at the Saturday session at 2 p.m.
The exhibits, concerts, and wide ranging information sessions on health, fitness, travel, sex and relationships, volunteering, technology skills, and much more begin Wednesday at the Orange County Convention Center (see: http://www.aarp.com).
Speakers include Whoopi Goldberg, Larry King, Jane Pauley, Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan, humorist Dave Barry, Robin Roberts, Newt Gingrich, James Carville, Mary Matalin, Fox Sportscaster James Brown, Olympia Dukakis, Tom Joyner, Martina Navratoliva, Patti Lovless, and Rob Reiner.
Entertainment includes Gladys Knight, B.B. King, Los Lobos, Gloria Gaynor, Crosby Stills and Nash, Judy Collins and Richie Havens.
