I don’t have any first-hand meetings or didn’t attend any Beatles concerts, but he and the Beatles sure changed the world. There will never be another Beatles band, and it sure beats the hell out of the music today. You could understand what they said ... John was a good one.

John’s stand that any action will cause a reaction stands true today.  Any change in “S.O.P” will eventually cause a shift in thinking, engaging, reacting to your family, city, county, world. Some favorite songs are Jealous Guy, Watching the Wheels, I’m Only Sleeping, and Woman.  When he sings the stanza “I love you, now and forever,” it chokes me up knowing of the happiness that Yoko was denied and of the future greatness all the world was denied because of his senseless death.

The best song ever written was “Imagine”. I wish everyone would really listen to the lyrics and try to live by them. The world would be a better place. cool smile

I will always remember Lennon for his sense of humor, his talent, and most importantly his lyrics, “All we are saying, is give peace a chance.” Having been born in the early 50’s witnessing the most interesting,  turbulent, and violent time in our history, the 60’s, Lennon’s “assassination” was very disturbing to me. One positive outcome of this event that I believe he would have appreciated were the candlelight vigils across the world which brought many of us together again. I found that reflective experience in downtown Tampa to be quite beneficial and renewing.

I often wonder if John Lennon realized how powerfully he effected all of our lives…from his early Beatle days up until his tragic demise… his voice always echoing in our hearts…even as the sounds of the holiday ring out “..so this is Christmas..” enticing us to “imagine” all that could have been accomplished through his gifts of song and the recognition of the ideals his very life commanded..he will be missed but forever remembered…..

Was he a head of state? A war hero? Its tragic he was murdered but give me a break.

As you can see from my first name, I am a girl that has been touched forever by the legacy that was John Lennon.  My parents were saddened by his tragic murder, and I am, in a small way, their way of keeping his memory alive.  To all the people out there who think his death was not a big deal and that people should just move on, think about how much joy he brought to so many people.  That’s really all that should count, shouldn’t it?  Life is way too short to be so negative.

question There were so many special people that brought smiles to our faces. Lennon was a great songwriter, and his radical views are what cost him his life. “All you need is love” was a term that he coined. Yet so many throw the words “I Love You” carelessly around, not meaning them. This ruins those peoples abilities to place their hearts in others hands for fear that they will be punished simply for loving others. Let’s raise the bar and go higher than John Lennon, a mear musician. Let’s follow the words of Jesus Christ. The most important commandment is to love others as yourself. If you do that, you will always forgive, and never hurt one another.
