John Stamos Joining “Glee” Next Season?

E! Online is reporting that actor John Stamos will be joining “Glee” next season for an undisclosed number of episodes.

E! columnist Kristin Dos Santos had the scoop yesterday. A producer told her Stamos will play Carl, a dentist who is dating the uptight school guidance babe Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays).  She is the object of desire for glee club coach Will (Matthew Morrison).

Santos points out that in a previous episode, Emma gave the deadpan line: “They say it takes certainty more than talent to make a star. I mean, look at John Stamos.”

But seriously, Stamos has done a lot since he spent eight long years on “Full House” which started in 1987.

He has musical skills, having played drums occasionally with The Beach Boys since 1985, and he directed their “Hot Fun in the Summertime” video.

More recently, he has appeared in Broadway productions such as “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying!,”  “Cabaret” and “Bye Bye Birdie”.
