Green Day will perform Aug. 3 at the St. Pete Times Forum, according to its label, Warner Bros.
The punk trio will tour this summer in support of its upcoming album, “21st Century Breakdown,” out May 15. It’s the follow-up to 2004’s Grammy-winning “American Idiot.”
On-sale dates for tickets have not yet been announced.

Hey, anyone remember when Green Day played the Brass Mug? Or better yet, when they played The Paint Factory? (Great big brownie points to anyone who can even say where the Paint Factory was)

As I recall, the Paint Factory was so sketchy that I just assumed it was an abandoned building. I think they ran in extension cords from the building next door for power. The next time they came they played the Star Club, which was right in Ybor on 7th, and there was a big crowd for that. I think Slap of Reality played with them. Or maybe Awake! After that they played the Brass Mug and there were way too many people there for the Mug. There’s supposed to be a video floating around the internet of either the Paint Factory show or the Star Club show.
