“Star Wars” fans will be gathering at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando on Aug. 12 through 15 for “Star Wars Celebration V,” the biggest event in the sci-fi universe - and “Star Wars” creator George Lucas has announced today that he will be there.

The main event will be a live, on-stage interview conducted by Comedy Central star Jon Stewart. Lucas’s company is running this official fan convention.

The hour-long, “candid” conversation promises to shed light on the history of the “Star Wars” saga, from its past to its future, with insider information.  Stewart, a “Star Wars” fan and pal of Lucas, should bring a fan sensibility to the interview. Fan questions can be submitted through the Star Wars Celebration V website: http://www.starwarscelebration.com

Hundreds are expected at this 3-day event which will commemorate the 30th Anniversary of “Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back” and will have Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) as one of the guests.

Other guests expected include Anthony Daniels (C-3PO, Episodes I-VI), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett, Episodes V and VI), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca, Episodes III-VI), Jake Lloyd (Anakin Skywalker, Episode I), Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett, Episode II), Daniel Logan (Boba Fett, Episode II, Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Ray Park (Darth Maul, Episode I), Nick Gillard (Stunt Coordinator, Episodes I-III) and Matthew Wood (General Grievous, Episodes II and III, Star Wars: The Clone Wars). Celebration hosts include Jay Laga’aia (Captain Typho, Episode II), David Collins (LucasArts) and Pablo Hidalgo (Lucasfilm).

And actor Seth Green will be there to discuss his parody “Robot Chicken Star Wars.”

Among the many activities will be a Star Wars Celebration Chapel where fans will be able to express their deep commitment to their special someone. Choose between a “light side” and “dark side” ceremony, and have your union officiated by your choice of colorful characters from the Star Wars Saga – and beyond!

There also will be a “Star Wars” fashion show, numerous exhibits, games and costume contests.
