A former biker gang member with Hell’s Angels claims FX stole his idea for a TV series and has filed suit.
The tabloid Web site TMZ is reporting that Chuck Zito, the former head of the New York City chapter of Hell’s Angels says the FX series “Sons of Anarchy” is based on his concept.
Zito, now an actor/producer, he developed a show about an “outlaw motorcycle club” in 1998 and pitched it to FX in 2004.
Zito claims FX officials agreed that he would be “reasonably compensated and afforded appropriate screen credits” if a series was developed. He wants $5 million because the biker gang series “Sons” has become a hit for the network. FX has declined to comment.
