First, Betty White - Now a Campaign to Get Carol Burnett as SNL Host

More than 100,000 fans agree that Carol Burnett should be drafted to host an upcoming “Saturday Night Live.”

Modeled after the same campaign that was successful in getting Betty White a SNL gig, a Facebook page called “Carol Burnett to Host SNL (Please?)!” has been up and running more a month.

Its creator (who posted an image with Ms. Burnett and the “SNL” logo, above) writes that Ms. Burnett, the sketch comedian, Broadway star and author, “would be an outstanding choice to host ‘SNL,’ ” adding, “Icing on the cake would be a cameo appearance by Tim Conway!”

But Burnett says she will take a pass on it.  She says she would turn it down if the offer came up.

“No one can top Betty. Why even try to be an imitator? You just can’t,” Burnett told the New York Times.
