Justice League — Crisis on Two Earths
Stars: Mark Harmon, William Baldwin, James Woods
Director: Sam Liu (“Planet Hulk”) and Lauren Montgomery (“Green Lantern: First Flight”)
The plot: In this animated feature, DC Comics’ Justice League, led by Superman (Harmon) and Batman (Baldwin), travel to an Earth in a parallel dimension where the heroes (who are similar to Justice League members) seek to run the world (what else?). The worst is The Owl (Woods), a Batman-like villain who plans on destroying every Earth in every dimension. He’s ice cold and demented.
Bottom line: We’re in a golden movie age for superhero fans, from live action blockbusters to animated films. The animation has a clarity and colors that are eye popping. It’s aimed at younger viewers, although the storyline is more sophisticated than you might expect, particularly the Owl’s machinations and a subplot involving romance with the J’onn. I highly recommend the Blu-ray experience with this one.
Extras: Excellent, including “Justice League” TV episodes and a short featuring ghostly detective The Spectre investigating the murder of movie mogul in Los Angeles. Watch out for the killer car!

72 minutes (PG-13; action violence)
