Dunedin’s Stadium Gets A New Name

The Spring Training home of the Toronto Blue Jays will again be known as Dunedin Stadium. The site, formerly known as Knology Park, has been home to the Blue Jays since the organization began its existence in 1977. It is also the current home of the Dunedin Blue Jays and Dunedin High School.

The stadium has a long history in the town of Dunedin and was recently named by Sports Illustrated as a top 5 Spring Training facility. The original structure, formerly known as Grant Field, was built in 1930 and named after the mayor who championed its construction.

Spring Training

Since 1914, Major League baseball teams have called the Bay area home for the time honored ritual of Spring Training. The reporting of pitchers and catchers around the 2nd week of February symbolizes the rebirth of hope for every fan whose team did not walk away from the previous season as winners; the proverbial fruition of waiting till next year.
