Former President Bill Clinton kicks off a star-filled week on the “Late Show with David Letterman” on Monday night.

This marks Clinton’s seventh appearance on the “Late Show.”  He last appeared on Sept. 22, 2009, with previous visits on Sept. 22, 2008, Sept. 4, 2007, June 16, 2005, August 3, 2004, and Sept. 11, 2002 (the first anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks).

Clinton will be promoting the 2010 Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting, which will be held New York City from Sept. 21 through Sept. 23.  The Clinton Global Initiative is a forum which brings together global leaders to address world problems, such as global public health, the alleviation of poverty and resolving religious and ethnic conflict.

Other guests next week include: Simon Baker, star of the CBS hit drama series, “The Mentalist,” and a performance by Maroon 5 (Sept. 21); actor Joaquin Phoenix, who will make his first television appearance and first visit back since his memorable Feb. 2009 appearance, and a performance by music legend Tom Jones (Sept. 22); Emmy-nominated actress Sofia Vergara from “Modern Family” (Sept. 23); and Shia LaBeouf, star of the highly-anticipated film, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” standup comedy from Brian Regan and a performance by musical guests Jimmy Eat World (Sept. 24).
