Four Star Riot will perform Saturday, Jan. 22, to raise money for the band’s keyboardist, Raulton Reichel.
Reichel was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last month and currently is undergoing treatment. “Rockin’ for Raulton” is being staged to raise money to help Reichel pay for his medical care.
Reichel’s keyboards, specifically B-3 organ and Wurlitzer electric piano, has been crucial in Four Star Riot’s move toward a grittier, more R&B influenced sound.
Reichel has been around the Tampa-area scene for years, playing with bands such as Ghetto Love Sugar, Deeper Shade of Soul, Funky Plumbers, Sound Chemist, Funk Like Whoa.
Other bands set to perform Saturday include Acme Jazz Garage, The Loving Thorns, The Crunge and The Haoles.
Show time is 9 p.m. at Dunedin Brewery, 937 Douglas Ave., Dunedin. Suggested donation is $5. For more information, call (727) 736-0606.
