You may have heard Ingrid Michaelson even if you’ve never heard of Ingrid Michaelson.
Her music has been featured in the finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” for two seasons in a row. She’s also had a song used in an Old Navy commercial.
Michaelson is resolutely independent, though, spurning the offers of major labels to release her music - her latest album is “Girls and Boys” - on her own.
Her folk-pop is catchy with just enough quirk for spice. Paste magazine recommended her for fans of Regina Spektor and Feist, but also Tina Fey. Must be the sense of humor. Or the glasses.
Michaelson performs tonight (June 12, 2008) at the State Theatre, 687 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg. Call (727) 895-3045.
