I knew it would happen one day. I would look at “American Idol” as a tedious experience and finally be able to write those dreaded words: jump the shark.
It’s over. Stick a fork in it and call it done.
On Tuesday night, Ellen changed chairs and moved one seat closer to Simon. But in commentary she’s closer to Randy Jackson. Ellen, Randy and Kara are like three parrots that say the same thing. Simon stands alone. All four are predictable. Someone ought to rate their performances.
As for the guys, they’ve still got the jitters, and this crop is weak.
Taking the stage a day early because female contestant Crystal Bowersox took ill, the men proved they are still boys who make bad song choices, can’t hit the notes and lack personal style.
St. Pete native Michael Lynche should be safe because his “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” (James Brown hit) was good enough. The judges loved him. He will be in the top 12 along with Lee Dewyze, who got the highest marks for Hinder’s “Lips of an Angel.”
My vote for leaving soon goes to Todrick Hall, Jermaine Sellers and Tim Urban.

walt, all i’d like to know is what the heck qualifies ellen to be a judge?we already know she can’t dance, and her comedy is marginal at best.and if the contestants would listen they would find simon knows what he is talking about.
