The Hillsborough County Alliance for Citizens with Disabilities will celebrate the 18th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act with a disability awareness expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Museum of Science & Industry, according to a news release.
The expo, Road to Access, will present new technologies and other advancements to make the lives of people with disabilities more livable and efficient.
The guest speaker for the event is Rich Robertson, who became a paraplegic after being wounded in Iraq three years ago. Hillsborough County Administrator Pat Bean will present this year’s Outstanding Community Service Award, Accessibility for All Award and Outstanding Youth Service Award.
Light refreshments will be served and drawings will be held for door prizes.
