Evidently, Bob White wasn’t listening when the president, addressing Democratic Party lawmakers early last week, illuminated for one and all the central idea about government spending.
Spending is stimulus, and stimulus is spending, President Obama declared to the delighted O’bots, who nodded and laughed in merry agreement. But even as the Democrats’ pork-a-thon spendapalooza was rocketing toward approval, the Pasco sheriff was shunning his opportunity to climb aboard. He says his office will return about $1.86 million in Penny for Pasco money. That’s close to 75 percent of his $2.5 million allotment.
When governments claim they’re scratching for every available dollar? And when, to hear the Wizards of Washington tell it, every government dollar spent is a dollar closer to full-employment, 15,000 Dow nirvannah? How, in such a climate, when even his Republican buddies on the county commission are eagerly dreaming of federal “stimulus” bucks, can White be a politician of such limited imagination? Not spend every dime of public money you can lay your hands on?
Why does Bob White hate America?
