TEMPLE CREST - Phil Compton of the conservation groups Friends of the River and Sierra Club will be the guest speaker at the Temple Crest Civic Association meeting Monday night, Oct. 13.
Compton, who focuses on local water issues, will talk about the Hillsborough River and ways to protect it against dangerous chemicals, civic association president Terry Neal said. Compton also is likely to address the river’s minimum flow among other issues.
The civic association meets the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the clubhouse, 4242 Miller Ave.
