NEW TAMPA - Expect a week of overnight traffic delays on Interstate 75 at Bruce B. Downs Boulevard starting Sunday.
To complete road work, DOT workers will close the left lane of northbound I-75 at Bruce B. Downs from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, and Monday, Aug. 4., a Florida Department of Transportation release said.
The right lane on southbound I-75 will be shut down from Bruce B. Downs to the Hillsborough River from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Friday, Aug. 8. The Hillsborough River flows beneath I-75 about 3 miles south of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, also known as County Road 581.
In July, the DOT opened a flyover bridge ramp from southbound Bruce B. Downs to southbound I-75.
Plans are under way to widened northbound I-75 to Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, which is Exit 270, to ease backups as traffic exiting the interstate.
