There was a lot of finger pointing following the Bucs 17-3 loss to the Giants.
Mostly players were pointing the fingers at themselves. Michael Clayton blamed the loss on his third-quarter fumble. Joey Galloway owned up with his numerous drops.
Coach Jon Gruden blamed the windy conditions.
“It was hard to do anything with the football today, other than hand it off,” Gruden said.
The Bucs handed the ball off 10 times, compared to 48 pass attempts. Considering they only ran the ball 13 times, including three scrambles by Bruce Gradkowski and eight carries by Cadillac Williams, imagine how many carries Williams would have had if the wind hadn’t been gusting.
“This one hurts,” cornerback Ronde Barber said.
After consecutive wins, the Bucs had hoped to go 4-0 in the second quarter of the season to pull even after their 0-4 start. Instead they’ll have to continue to claw their way out of the large hole that keeps getting deeper.
“We’ve got to win a division game,” receiver Ike Hilliard said.
They get a shot next Sunday against New Orleans.

Concur with the previous comments. The receivers know that they are working with a rookie quarterback and yet they did absolutely nothing to make him or the team look decent. An NFL receiver should be able to catch a ball when the ball hits the palms of their hands and then make something happen - make a play! Instead, we saw junior high junior varsity futile attempts at trying to catch a ball by players that are receiving an incredible amount of money. The BUCS need some play-makers, especially in the receiver corps, so that they can have a chance or at least be interesting. What a let-down.

what a bummer. that defense played there guts out. they stopped them from scoring so many times it was heartbreaking to watch. they gave us so many oppertunities to score it was a shame. dropped passes, fumbled balls. gradkowski looked good got the ball to them they just couldn’t catch it or hold on to it. maybe all the recievers should get to together and put there weekly salary into a pool and spread it out among all the team because they surely took the day off.
